As many dating stories start in the 21st century, Atiya and Wittley met on a dating app in June 2021. Through scrolling on the app, it came to both of their surprises that they knew each other prior to seeing each other on the dating app. After further investigation, they realized that they not only had been friends on Facebook for 11 years, but they also went to the same school many years ago, briefly passing each other in the hallway a handful of times. Once they met, Wittley was attracted to Atiya's confidence and empathy, and Atiya was attracted to Wittley's deep intellect and authenticity. They bonded through deep conversations and their love of adventure. They both proposed to each other on separate occasions. Wittley proposed to Atiya at their home on their 2nd anniversary, and Atiya proposed to Wittley a couple months later at the location of their first date. They will be getting married on July 2nd, exactly five years after their first date.
